Where They are now: Tidy Pig Cleaning
For Albert Mora, founder of TidyPig Cleaning, owning a cleaning company was never just about sparkling floors. It was about building something dependable, structured, and rooted in service. Since his time at StartUP Columbus, TidyPig has grown from a hardworking local service into a business with vision, strategy, and the systems to back it up.
“TidyPig Cleaning is a residential and commercial cleaning service,” Albert says. “Since StartUP Columbus, we’ve become so much more structured. I finally feel like I have a business with direction, not just a service I provide.”
Before joining the StartUP Columbus program, Albert struggled with digital marketing and visibility. It wasn’t just about finding customers, but about learning how to show up in the right places with the right message. Through the program, he gained the clarity and confidence he needed to start showing up like the CEO he is.
“One of my biggest challenges was improving my digital marketing skills,” he shares. “StartUP helped me understand what to focus on and how to reach the people who needed our services most.”
Since completing the program, Albert has stayed focused on building a strong foundation for growth. He hasn’t expanded beyond Columbus just yet, but he’s working on it and doing it with intention. That means hiring the right team, refining processes, and ensuring the service remains personal, reliable, and top-quality.
Right now, we’re focused on bringing in more highly qualified employees so we can scale,” he says. “Growth is the goal, but we’re doing it step by step.”
Albert is the first to admit that business ownership isn’t always easy to balance with life. But the lessons he learned in StartUP Columbus helped him realize that balance starts with structure. Success means building a business that supports the life you want, not the other way around. “The only way I’ve found to balance business and life is through structure,” he says. “When I create systems, everything runs smoother at work and at home.”
Looking back, he wishes he’d understood the power of planning for the long term earlier. The StartUP experience helped shift his mindset from short-term hustle to strategic growth. “StartUP Columbus helped me tremendously after launching,” Albert says. “It gave me tools, but also encouragement to keep going, to think bigger, and to keep learning.”
While Albert hasn’t directly gained clients from the program, he’s seen firsthand how much his professionalism, consistency, and visibility have improved. He’s proud of how far he’s come and excited about where TidyPig Cleaning is headed next.
His advice for others thinking about jumping into entrepreneurship or joining StartUP?
“My advice is simple. Do it. The support, the mentorship, the clarity, it’s worth it. You’ll leave with more than a business plan. You’ll leave with confidence.”
From a local cleaning service to a brand built on trust and structure, Albert’s story is a reminder that entrepreneurship is a journey. With the right support, every step forward matters.
