Where They are now: britnee Wheeler, Rose Maternity Co.
When Britnee Wheeler launched Rose Maternity Co., it was born out of a deeply personal mission—to create the recovery support she couldn’t find after her fifth pregnancy. What began as an idea has grown into a purpose-driven wellness brand dedicated to revolutionizing pain management in feminine care
Since her time with StartUP Columbus, Britnee has transformed Rose Maternity Co. from a concept into a company with national reach. The brand’s signature product, the RoseRelief™ Postpartum Undergarment, gained HSA/FSA approval and now serves mothers not only in postpartum recovery but also women managing pain from menstrual cycles, hysterectomies, and other surgical recoveries. The company’s expansion into B2B channels and partnerships
with nonprofits and healthcare providers marks a major shift from startup to movement—bringing comfort and dignity to women at every stage of womanhood.
“Yes, we’ve successfully scaled Rose Maternity Co. beyond Columbus,” she explains. “That growth has come from building strong brand recognition, collaborating with regional health professionals, and learning to delegate so I can lead strategically.”
Of course, entrepreneurship hasn’t been without its challenges. In the early stages, Britnee grappled with narrowing her focus and learning to trust her gut. She credits StartUP Columbus with giving her the tools and the confidence to evolve.
“They provided the structure, mentorship, and accountability I needed to gain real momentum,” she reflects. “That community believed in my mission before the market fully did, and that belief gave me the confidence to keep going.” The lessons learned—especially around clearly communicating value and vision—helped her refine her pitch and access opportunities she once felt out of reach”
That clarity, combined with ongoing support from the Columbus entrepreneurial ecosystem, has been a game changer. Britnee describes the local startup community as “incredible, collaborative, and deeply supportive,” providing not only inspiration but ongoing partnerships and referrals. As for what’s next? Britnee is keeping the momentum going with new hires, product development, and national speaking engagements.
Looking ahead, Rose Maternity Co. is expanding its product line to support broader stages of women’s health, deepening nonprofit and healthcare partnerships, and pursuing certifications and clinical validation to strengthen credibility. “We’re not just building a brand—we’re creating a movement to shift how recovery is supported,” Britnee says.
Her advice to aspiring entrepreneurs? Don’t wait for perfect.
“Start before you feel ready,” she encourages. “And lean into the community—because when you’re surrounded by people who believe in your vision, you’ll find the courage to keep going.”
