A Columbus native and a graduate of Columbus State University with a degree in entrepreneurial business management, I'm 25 years old. Slime Laboratory | CO.STARTERS+

I enrolled in the CO.STARTERS+ program with the goal of launching a restaurant in Columbus to address the lack of vegan options. However, around week 5, a financial reality check occurred. With the guidance of CO.STARTERS+, I realized that starting a restaurant would demand a six-figure investment and several years of losses before turning profitable. Considering the need for funds, staff, and marketing, I recognized I wasn't equipped for such an endeavor. Consequently, I refocused on The Slime Laboratory, a venture with lower startup costs and an existing customer base. CO.STARTERS+ reshaped my understanding of business finances and honed my marketing skills, leading to increased sales over 3 years and enabling plans to secure working capital. The Slime Laboratory now flourishes, employing 6 individuals, hosting events, and embodying creativity, learning, and excitement. The pivot taught me the importance of adapting to financial realities and capitalizing on existing strengths.
